Egalitarianism Or Feminism : The choice is yours

What is Feminism?
  • Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines feminism as "the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes."
  • Urban Dictionary defines feminism as the “belief that women are and should be treated as potential intellectual equals and social equals to men.”
All the people who support feminism are called feminists, these people can be either male or female. Feminists commonly make a mistake, using the word feminism inappropriately.
*****If you believe that women and men should have equal rights, you are a feminist. there's nothing "extreme" about it*****

For example, if a man hits a woman, he is called weak and some inappropriately disturbing words are also used. But, when a woman hits a man she is called strong and she ultimately becomes a point of appreciation for feminists.
In short feminism is about equality of sexes, having equal rights either legal or social. But most feminists take feminism as “women are as equal to men instead” instead of the fact that “men and women are equal”. Both lines seem similar but there is a huge difference between them as huge as there is between “almost equal” and “equal”.

What is Egalitarianism
  • Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines egalitarianism as “a belief in human equality especially with respect to social, political, and economic affairs; a social philosophy advocating the removal of inequalities among people”.
  • Urban Dictionary defines egalitarianism as” Someone who believes that all humans should have equal rights and opportunities, regardless of race, sex, sexuality or class background”.
People who support egalitarianism are called egalitarian, these people can be male, female, transgender, gay, lesbian or bisexual. There is a simpler word than egalitarianism called humanity.
The beauty of Egalitarianism is its ideology which is all humans, irrespective of their caste, sex, color, are equal. Whilst ideology of Feminism revolves around females.
Even there are people out there who call themselves a feminist but they never call themselves a feminist in public because they are afraid. Why? Has anyone ever thought about that? But if anyone is asked to call out loud “I am an egalitarian”, they will say that proudly.
I call myself an Egalitarian, what do you call yourself?
