Content marketing is a strategic marketing approach focused on creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly defined audience — and, ultimately, to drive profitable customer action. Traditional marketing is becoming less and less effective by the minute; as a forward-thinking marketer, you know there has to be a better way.
In my previous article, I wrote about how manufacturing companies can use social media, mostly Facebook, for content marketing. Now, in this article, I will give you the best examples of content marketing in the electronics industry.
#5. Panasonic
Panasonic Corporation, founded by Konosuke Matsushita and headquartered in Osaka, Japan, encumbers a wide array of electronics ranging from Televisions, Cameras, Audio and video recorders, home appliances, personal health care, communication products, batteries, video game consoles etc.
With 19 websites and with all different branding, Panasonic developed a number of different suppliers using a variety of technologies containing content and functionality. All 19 websites had no general information or any social interaction between thm. Thus, making it difficult to manage.
Therefore, Panasonic devised a strategy to manage them. Their strategy included:
· New single brand website, with CMS and CRM
· Key product micro-sites
· SEM (paid search) strategy, with new personas
· Consumer blog
· Business blog
#4. Hitachi
Hitachi, a Japan-based multinational company and headquartered in Chiyoda, Japan, has around and operates in eleven business segments. Some of them are Info & Telecomm Systems, Social Infra, High Functional Materials, Finance, Power, Electronic Systems, and Automobile systems, Railway Systems, Digital Media and Other Systems.
Hitachi developed a platform to provide its content marketers with a space to create more vivid content and increase productivity. Its major features are:
· It helps define content goals and desired outcomes based on business objectives and campaign priorities.
· It builds content and promotion plans, including mapping content for digital channels (such as syndication, paid search, and social media) with a focus on content reuse and optimization.
#3. Intel
Intel Corporation (an acronym for “INTegrated circuits” and “ELectronics”), founded in 1968, headquartered in Santa Clara, United States. It is the leading manufacturer of processing chips present in personal computers and laptops brought out by PC vendors like Samsung, Apple, Lenovo, HP, etc.
Over the past few years, some content marketing projects from Intel are using social media for content marketing, mostly Facebook. Facebook gives Intel an open access to the user’s profile. Intel is asking their fan base to create a video related to Intel and upload in on Facebook. Intel is calling this project, “Museum of Mo.”
#2. Samsung
Samsung, the South Korean multinational electronics conglomerate and headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul, South Korea provides service and products. Few of them are: Some of the product and services includes Apparel, chemicals, consumer electronics, electronic components, medical equipment, semiconductors, ships, telecommunications equipment, Advertising, construction, entertainment, financial services, hospitality, information and communications technology, medical and healthcare services.
Samsung developed a program to get a little artistic with user-generated content. Samsung named it “Incredible Art Piece” It was included in a campaign to promote the Galaxy Note Pen Stylus and even broke the Guinness World Record for most artists working on the same art installation (300,000+)
#1. Apple
Apple Inc. tops the list this year as well. Apple, founded in 1976 by the legendary personality Steve Jobs in association with his friends Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, headquartered in Cupertino, United States. Its products and service portfolio encumbers Mac, iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, OS X, iOS, watchOS, iLife, iWork, Apple Pay, online Apple Store, iTunes Store, iOS App Store, Mac App Store, iBooks Store,, iCloud and Apple Music.
With no Facebook or Twitter account, Apple takes a peculiar approach to running a blog. By contemporary standards, that amounts to a weak content strategy. However, due to high-quality content Apple not only compensates the gap created due to not using social media but also takes a lead amongst the other companies.
Therefore, this was the list of the few best companies in the electronics industry. Furthermore, Apple’s success proves that if one has an amazing strategy and high-quality content, one can get an elite position in marketing.
